Outside Japan anime refers specifically to animation from Japan or as a Japanese disseminated animation style often characterized by colorful graphics vibrant characters and fantastical themes. In its most elementary form anime refers to animation. Interestingly enough the name itself isn’t an abbreviation of English word animation. Instead, it’s how you say[animated cartoon] i Japanese.
